Come join us on Saturday, October 27th, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at MBC as we pack shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. You can pack a shoebox in memory of a loved one or pack as many shoeboxes as you’d like. Just think of it – as a result of your loved-one’s life, a child will be introduced to his/her Savior!
Donations can be placed in the OCC donation box by the main doors. Operation Christmas Child suggests a $9 donation to cover the cost of shipping. We need the following items for packing:
Pencils, erasers, balls, jump ropes, toy cars (can be trucks, boats, airplanes), bars of soap (any size; can be unused hotel soap), coloring books, hair accessories (combs, ponytail holders, etc.), other toys (like Slinkies, tops, plastic animals, Barbies, Play-Doh)*, miscellaneous items (like sewing kits, flip flops, tote bags, cups and bowls, bungee cords)
*Please do not include army men or other “war” toys such as guns as several of these children live in war torn countries.
You can also, if you choose, include a picture of your loved one along with a note in the box.
If you have any questions, please contact Connie Perrin at 432-889-5126.
