You’ll have your radar of important info and we’ll have ours. Well, what we would like is to answer all your questions without overwhelming you with information you’ll just forget later on.
So, our FAQ is a great place to start. If, however, you’ve got questions we didn’t cover, please feel free to continue browsing the site, use our Contact form, or call the church office at (432) 684-9722.
Frequently asked questions:
It’s kind of hard to say. Everyone’s experience here is a little bit different. But, all in all, it will likely be something like this:
- You show up and someone will shake your hand and say, “Hello!”
- We will all gather up in the auditorium and begin the service.
- We will sing some awesome songs of praise and worship of God.
- We will hear a message from God’s Word about real life.
- Someone might say, “Thanks for coming, we’ll see you soon!”
- You’ll be treated with honor and respect as a guest at our home.
The teaching at Midland Bible typically goes through books of the Bible one at a time, as opposed to topical sermons on a particular subject. Not that there is anything wrong with topical sermons. We do those from time to time too.
It’s important to us that our preaching and teaching takes the content of the Bible as Truth. We want to let the Bible shape our current understanding rather than let our current understanding shape how we preach and teach the Bible.
We typically play contemporary music – made up of both hymns and newer praise songs. You can expect to hear acoustic and electric guitars, drums, keyboards and various vocalists each Sunday.
Yes! Each week we record our Preaching Pastor’s messages. These messages are available on CD the week after it was preached. Additionally, the Worship Ministry has recorded a CD that has many of the songs we sing at MBC. You can pick up both of these resources free of charge in the foyer.
Well, if you have one, then you should definitely bring it! It’s important to us that the Truth of the Bible is communicated. Bringing your Bible will help, as you can follow along with the sermons better.
If you don’t have a Bible, please let us know and we would be happy to help you get one.
We try really hard to continually remember why we gather together: To worship God and love each other. In this light, concerns such as “what do I wear” become faded and dim. (No pun intended.) But, if your looking for some guidelines, we can offer a little help.
Most people come in business casual to casual clothing. Some wear business attire, but plain ‘ol blue jeans fit in just fine. You can dress your preschoolers and elementary kids up nice if you wish, but remember – the kids play a lot. They’re ‘bound to get dirty.
