Teaching Ministry

Teaching them to observe all things that Jesus has commanded - Matthew 28:20

Teaching Ministry

Teaching Ministry

Some of Jesus’ last words to the eleven men that He was entrusting the establishment of the church to are found in Matthew 28.

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:18-20

We believe that discipleship involves three key aspects that is reinforced with each decision and step we take in this life: Know, Be and Do. The Teaching Ministry of MBC is much more than sharing information, but it does include information…information on God’s principles for every relationship this life brings including our individual walk with God, marriage, child-rearing, work, ministry, etc.

Our curriculum provides equipping and mentoring in all of these areas and it provides every believer the opportunity to be “adult AWANA” club members.

Choose Life

Teacher: Tim Dunn
Room: Auditorium
Description: Using various Bible texts Tim teaches practical life instruction in his engaging style. Often this life instruction has an eye toward marriage, but it is not uniquely so and all are welcome married or otherwise.

Follow Christ

Teacher: Laynce Nix
Room: PB 11
Description: Laynce has a passion for discipleship, and communicates in a thoughtful way that seems deceptively simple but is deeply profound. If you’ve ever wondered, “What does it means to TRULY be a disciple of Christ?” This is your class.

Hope for Relationships

Teacher: Hermann Eben (with assistance from David Curtis and Dean Jarrett)
Room: MC 11
Description: This curriculum was started by a late friend of MBC, Dr. Marlin Howe. Having been greatly impacted by Dr. Howe’s teaching, after his untimely death, Hermann Eben has put countless hours into further developing and expanding Dr. Howe’s teaching. If you want profound insights into how to improve the relationships with in your life — be they with a spouse, colleagues at work, your children, your neighbor, or all of the above — this is your class.

Topical Discussion

Teacher: Ron Miller and Earl Erwin
Room: PB 13
Description: This is a more discussion oriented class that makes its way through various books of the Bible. (If you know Ron, you know there is no real way to predict with any certainty WHAT will happen in this class. Whatever it is, it’ll be fun though!)

Resources

MBC takes teaching and doctrine very seriously. As such we’ve generated a few resources we have found to be beneficial in Bible study, small groups, etc., where it’s nice to have a guide. If you like talking about doctrine and theology, or if you have any questions or concerns about the beliefs or teaching at MBC, we’d love to sit down and chat with you.
