We’re BUILDING!
It has been a long road, but today we are at the end of the first leg of the journey. We have a building designed that we are both thrilled with and can afford. We praise God that we are to this point, and though it has been a long road it is fair to say it was as good as it was long.
A Challenge and a Solution
As has been expressed the last few months we have been struggling with getting the building in alignment with the budget. In order to do that we needed to cut a lot of things and defer the building of a few key components. That is not to say that we are not building the full building. We are. What we are deferring is the build out of two major components of the building. That means they will be hollow spaces — with all of square feet and the requisite plumbing and electrical — that have no interior walls or flooring or doors. These spaces will be like a garage until such time as we go back in and finish those spaces. Those two spaces are the ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES and the KITCHEN.
When the money comes in to complete those spaces we will do so. That may be two years from now, or it may be that we raise the money next week and those spaces are never barren.
“Upgrades”
In addition to not building out those spaces, there are several “features” that have been deleted from the building. Depending on the timing of more funds, many of those can also be added back into the project. We will be presenting a list of features the building committee believes are ones that might be of interest for re-addition to the project. As such, we are making the list available, with the cost of re-addition, so people can let us know if they are interested in paying for its re-addition. If you desire to cover the cost of a re-addition, please notify the building committee as soon as possible as there is critical timing for some of them.

More Good News
The building is bigger than we proposed two months ago at our Sunday meeting!
When we unveiled what we thought would be the final design a few months ago, we expressed the building committee’s desire to possibly increase the size of the nursery area and the youth area. We have found a way to do both! This will dramatically increase the function of both spaces. This is very good news.
What You Can Do To Help — Finances
Please continue to pray. We desire very much to do only what God would have us do. Please pray for guidance for the building committee, and as we move into construction, for the skill and safety of the men who build it for us.
Financially speaking, we have made considerable effort to be diligent, yet low-key, in our fundraising for this project. It is our great desire that the project is a joy and not a burden upon the congregation. We hope to continue that throughout the project. With that in mind, it is necessary to keep everyone informed. Because we will still need some money to fully finish out the building, we want to inform everyone that we are making available a new way to donate. When we made an initial request for pledges, we asked those to be over a three year period. We’d like to now extend that to four. We believe doing so will raise sufficient money to fully finish the project without further burden upon the congregation. If this is something you would like to do, please contact Robert Sheets or Tyler Beard as soon as possible.
